Forgotten Diaries

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 11290

Stacy wondered on the disturbing resemblance between the woman in the pictures and herself. "Anastasia", she knew, was the name from which "Stacy" was derived, which was interesting in and of itself. She was also disturbed by as she remembered that her doctorate was in the Sciences. How then could she read the medieval French?

It was all quite confusing, but Stacy decided it would be best to explore the rest of her apartment.

Looking around, she walked into the main bedroom. From the furnishings, it appeared to be hers. A large canopy bed dominated the room, and elsewhere there was a vanity and a writing desk. Stacy walked over to the writing desk, noticing it was strewn with papers and books. It seemed like a good idea, after all, as something there might give her a clue.

What she saw on the desk was interesting, to say the least. Sketches of heraldry, history books, and a rather well-thumbed dalmatian composition book.

Picking up the composition book and flipping through some of the later pages, it became obvious it was a journal of some sorts. Thinking it best to start at the beginning, Stacy did so, only to find the first few pages were messily ripped out, although not completely. Looking at the remnants of the ripped-out pages, she noticed a rather curious thing—it was written in medieval French, in archaic handwriting. Too much was torn from the composition book to determine what it was, though.

Flipping through the book revealed that other sections were torn out. Some sections, however, remained. Stacy gravitated to the longest one and read it...

If you're reading this, then it means I've lost my memory again. I've been keeping this journal to help me remember between memory lapses, and by me, I mean you. You are Dr. Stacy Jones, at least as far as I've been able to tell thus far, but you might have been someone else, we might have been someone else, I might have been someone else. I don't know. It's been a struggle, especially since they discovered that I was keeping the journal. Every time I get close, I lose my memory again, or they take it from me. I can't be sure. I think they are the ones who are tearing the pages from our journal, too.

Whatever you do, don't trust the Professor. He seems friendly, but he knows more than he lets on.

Something is going to happen on the nights of the full moon, that much I'm sure of. What it is, I don't know, but we're tight for time here.
I've managed to find someone who is going to send me a scroll which just might be the final piece in the puzzle. He has keys to the apartment, and he is going to hide it in an unlikely place so they won't find it. If you manage to locate the scroll, hang on to it. Relocate if you have to, but do not lose it. Best of luck, after all, you are me...

Stacy shook her head, trying to absorb the severity of what she had just read. Apparently she had lost her memory several times. There was something someone didn't want her to know, and it had to do with the full moon. What was this about there being more than one night of the full moon, though?

Stacy walked over to an end table that had a calendar hung over it. The calendar had three red "X" marks on three separate days, namely the following Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday was marked on the calendar's lunar symbols as having a full moon. However, on the end table were strewn several lunar charts. Stacy studied them and learned what she had meant by nights of the full moon—the moon stays full for a full three nights.

She looked to her watch. It was Tuesday. Her past self had been right, they were tight for time indeed...

  1. Just then, a knock came at the door
  2. Just then, the phone rang in the lounge
  3. Stacy went into the lounge to examine her computer
