Stacy decided that she wasn't likely to get a better chance than this to disarm and disable the two men, as for the moment they both had their attention focused on the phone's screen rather than on her. They were also close enough together that she could try to take out both of them simultaneously rather than one after the other, which should improve the odds.
So she took a step forward and aimed a karate chop at the forearm of the man with the gun, at the same time kicking Bill, the man with the phone, hard in the groin. The man with the gun yelped in pain and dropped it, while Bill howled in agony, dropped the phone, and fell to the floor, his hands clasped over his private parts. Perhaps she should have pressed home her attack unarmed, but instead she decided to bend down and grab the gun. But the man who had dropped the gun had enough presence of mind to knee her hard in the chest as she bent over, knocking all the wind out of her. Before she could recover, he had managed to grab the gun in his other hand. He didn't shoot her. Instead he brought down the butt hard on the side of her head, and she passed out. When she came round, with a shocking headache, she found that she was trussed up, naked, and lying in darkness inside what from the feel of wickerwork against her skin might be a large laundry basket. She was being jolted about, so it seemed that she was being moved out of the hotel.
