Stacy got on the subway to pier 11. She looked for landing F. She went past A and kept on going towards B. There was a lot of hustle and bustle, with day trippers arriving and streaming towards the subway station and others queuing up to catch their ferry. She saw day tripper disembarking from the the Staten Island ferry. A blue and white catamaran was sailing out towards New Jersey.
She got as far as landing E and that seemed to be the end of the port area. So where was landing F? Surely it should be just past E. This part of the ferry port was quiet but she found a dock worker. He was a middle-aged man wearing blue overalls and sweeping up around a workshop area with a wooden broom. "Excuse me," said Stacy. "I'm looking for Landing F. Do you know where it is?" "Landing F?" he said. "There's no landing F. This is Landing E and that's it. A, B, C, D, E. No F. What ferry did you want to catch. I'll tell you which landing you should be on." "No I don't want to catch a ferry," said Stacy. "I need to find landing F. I had some deliveries come here. I just wanted to check that everything arrived okay." "Deliveries? I can't help you miss. I don't know anything about deliveries and certainly not about Landing F." The man returned to sweeping up and Stacy decided to keep on looking herself. She wasn't going to just give up. Surely those deliveries must have gone somewhere. Or was the whole paper trail a fake. And then she noticed something unusual:
