Bea burned her elbow in the stew she was making and let out a wail of shock and pain as her legs suddenly bonded together under her dress, and she fell to the floor. Fins sprouted on her lower back and forearms, webbing appeared between her fingers, and gills grew in her neck - making it quite impossible for her to breathe.

  1. Fortunately, she was not alone in the room, and her family, after several moments of shock, carried her out to sea as fast as their legs could take them.
  2. She managed to haul herself into a large pot of water across the kitchen just before she blacked out.
