Susan was very frail these days; most people did not live past sixty, so eighty-two was nigh unheard of. Charlie worried every day that she would not wake up, and he was finally ready to try the potion. He served it to her in her soup, and presently she fell asleep.

When she woke up later,

  1. she was young again, but just as senile.
  2. she was young again, but very sick.
  3. she was a little too young.
  4. nothing had changed. Had the potion failed?
  5. Charlie found that the potion had been completely effective!
  6. Susan had transformed into Sir Fred!
  7. something entirely unexpected had happened.
