Ten-year-old girl on a quest

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 112487

Nobody saw, under the cover of darkness, a tiny cloaked four-foot-nothing figure slip out of the castle. She had a pack on her back and a skip in her step, and felt a thrill of excitement as she faced the outside world for the first time on her own.

It was the early morning, and light was beginning to color the sky as she passed through the nearest village to the castle, where she purchased a map with the small amount of money she carried. Her life as Fred was fuzzy, but not so fuzzy that she couldn't recall how the countries were laid out. She determined that the journey to the Southern Caves would take her a great many months at the rate she could travel as the little girl she had become, but that was quite all right with her. She would need the time to think of a way to slay the dragon in this form, after all!

She left the village before noon came, and started her journey through the forest. She would not touch civilization for another week of travel.

  1. Shortly after she left the village, she was jumped by brigands.
  2. After about a day's travel, she became aware of the presence of fey creatures in the woods.
  3. Shortly after eating some berries she picked on day four, she began to experience strange symptoms.
  4. She reached the next village without mishap.
