The Never Ending Quest - Episode 11242

"I never told the receptionist that," Stacy protested. "Well, that's what she said when she rang me to say that you were on your way up." What was going on here, Stacy wondered. Most probably nothing sinister, she decided, but a simple misunderstanding between the executive and the receptionist.

She thought of showing the executive her copy of Masterson's book, and telling him how the events in it paralleled her own experiences. But if he already thought that she might be a weirdo, that would surely only confirm him in that view.

  1. "Look," she said, "do I LOOK like a weirdo?"
  2. She tried the effect on him of breaking down in tears.
  3. A man walked into the office. From the photo on the book jacket she recognised him as Toby Masterson. What a stroke of luck!
  4. Stacy decided to consult the book.
