The Astras were made of sterner stuff. "No it's not," Astra 1 said. "It's someone so covered in mud that I can't even tell if it's a man or a woman, but they are definitely human. Well almost definitely."

"It's lucky that we landed in a cleaner part of the pond," her alter ego said. "Though you do have a piece of weed stuck in your hair."

It turned out that the figure was:

1. Scott.
2. Josh.
3. Yet another Astra. She said that she was naked, though she was so mud-plastered that it was impossible to tell.
4. Actually Mitchell had been right all the time. It was the creature from the black lagoon - or from the black pond anyway.
5. It was something less likely than any of the above.
