Oh well, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, Stacy thought. What
can I infer
from the scroll itself? From the language, it must have been written
somewhen
between say 1100 and 1300. (How do I have such expertise about medieval
French,
given that my doctorate is in science?) It looks like the sort of thing
that some sect with very
strange religious ideas might produce. Presumably it was a French sect -
or maybe it had adherents in
several countries. If I can't find anything
useful on the Web, maybe I should try my local library - if I can find out
where
that is. Let's see if I have a Yellow Pages - that should enable me to
find out where my nearest library is.
