Bloodied but Unbowed

Mitchell got rather gingerly to his feet and examined himself. Apart from a few scrapes, from some of which a little blood was oozing, he seemed fine. As far as he could tell, he didn't have any broken bones. "I think so," he said.

"Good," Astra One said.

"How about you two?" Mitchell asked.

"We're fine. Now that we're finally out of that damned tower, we can boldy go and explore this brave new world."

"Have you been watching Star Trek reruns or Shakespeare's 'The Tempest'?" Mitchell wondered. (Being a librarian came in useful sometimes.)

"No," both Astras said in unison. "Why?"

"Never mind. But I can't go off exploring when I have a library to run."
