The woman's lamp produced just enough light for Astra to recognise her as someone that she knew from Aqualaria. That was a bit of a shock. Could it be Henry's wife? He hadn't said that his wife came from Aqualaria. But then Astra supposed that there was no reason for him to mention it, since she hadn't told him that she came from Aqualaria. He had told her that Captain Shirk had met his wife, Clara, during the fifth voyage, so perhaps Henry had met his on the third voyage, which she recalled from the book that she had been reading had been the one that had visited Aqualaria.

  1. Astra called down to the woman.
  2. Deciding that discretion was the better part of valour, Astra remained silent.
  3. She saw that the woman held something in her hand that was about the size of a pack of playing cards, but she could not make out what it was.
  4. Astra looked at the woman a little closer.
