The Never Ending Quest - Episode 109995

It was many a late night that Orbeus spent researching the history of the Necromicon and the varying ways to restore a person from being transformed in mind and body. He once tried out the most reliable method he'd found thus far, but he could sense the unchanged mind of Miranda held in stasis within the dress, and was afraid to try again, lest he'd already made her restoration that much more complicated.

After about two months, his efforts slowed to a trickle. He had important work to do, as the High Council of Sorcerers of Allaria had asked his assistance in the preparation of a spell to ward against the dragon, and it was Jarlath's responsibility to restore his brother. At least Fred/Miranda would be safe where (s)he was now. The dragon was of more immediate concern, and Jarlath's research continued anyway.

  1. About six months after Fred's transformation, Jarlath showed up at Orbeus's door. He had enlisted the aid of another magician, and he believed he had found a solution.
  2. About a year after Fred's transformation, a young woman showed up at Orbeus's doorstep, having recently escaped the dragon. Orbeus gave her food, a place to rest, and her choice of clothes, but she left while he slept and had chosen Miranda to wear.
  3. About two years after Fred's transformation, Jarlath finally accomplished what he'd actually been trying to do--find the Necromicon again. Orbeus sensed him coming, and had to quickly hide the dress.
