Fred double-crosses the monsters!

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10979

Fred fires a bolt straight through the neck of the hideous leader of the monsters.
The creature laughs. It's horns grow larger. "You fool! I knew you would do this! Now prepare to..."
Fred pulls the bolt out of the things neck and jabs it in the beasts eye socket. Eye-juice shoots everywhere as Fred jabs the bolt in.
The creature screams. Several limbs drop off and scurry away. Blood and innards flow from it's back.
Finally, it dies.
Fred dodges a sword blow from a loyal lackey.
But the death of the leader demoralizes the monsters. Most scatter. The king's men mop up the monsters. Fred is hailed as a hero.
His weapons and equipment are long gone but he is given more. The leader of the king's men, Sir Josh, a twenty-five year old prodigy, informs him the king has declared war on the dragon. It is time to end this madness! Would Fred lead them?
Fred had a moment of doubt. He had rejected the king! For a while, that is. But was he worthy enough?

  1. Fred leads the men without explaining.
  2. Fred explains what happened but they want Fred to lead them anyway.
  3. Fred takes Josh aside and explains what happened. Josh tells him to flee, King Emry would kill Fred for temporarily abandoning him. (Emry is mean!)
  4. Fred confesses just to Josh but Josh says it doesn't matter, he redeemed himself.
