The statues all ended up in the cart of a traveling merchant. The strangely terrified expressions on them all were so off-putting that most potential buyers didn't consider them for a second. Only one of the older gentlemen was sold with any degree of ease; the others stayed in the cart for months.

  1. Eventually the merchant managed to sell them at lower but fairly reasonable prices.
  2. After several months of no success no matter how much he marked them down, the merchant just dumped the remaining statues--the girl, the teenager, and the other man--in a forest.
