They stared into each other's eyes. Mariela laughed gleefully and clapped her hands together. "I'll leave you two alone," she said, and disappeared. "Toad," Marinus said, taking her green, bumpy hand. "I... I've never felt this way about anyone before. Will... Will you marry me?" Hannah—or rather, Toad; it sounded so good when he said it—nodded ecstatically. It was quite possibly the oddest wedding ever. Toad's wedding dress quickly became filthy in the muck. Marinus, of course, had to remain in the dirty water, so he couldn't get much higher than his bride's waist (though she was, in fact, very short). Since Toad couldn't manage an "I do," she just croaked her affirmation. Mariela was the one who married them. Her servant, Egbert (whom neither the bride nor the groom had ever met), was the only person in the audience. Of course, this was all superficial. Their kiss was most definitely the most awkward one ever to be attempted, but when they drew away, they were both overjoyed. They began their new life together...
