"Oh, why thank you very much," said Hannah, instantly at ease, delighted by this polite stranger.

Helcroz poured her tea that was, of course, laced with a love potion. She drank like a lady, he made light chitchat that she barely understood, and inside five minutes she was staring at him intently with tears of joy shining in her eyes.

"Hannah," he said.

"Yes?" she breathed, nearly overlapping with the last syllable of her name.

"I was just wondering if you would marry me."

She threw her arms around him, sobbing, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Helcroz knew he needed to do this quickly. He loaded Hannah onto a magic carpet and started it moving as fast as it could go. They were to be married in the morning—very far away from Hannah's original husband.

  1. Belboz found out about Helcroz, and came to stop him, as he actually had wanted to supply his nephew with a family.
  2. Belboz found out, of course, but he didn't particularly care. His main objective was to doom the foolish knight to a womanly life. As long as Hannah was married to someone and having babies, it was fine by him.
