Hannah blinked, very slowly. "Love... spell?"

"Love spell," the enchantress repeated. "And a nasty one, too. Tell me, are you married?"

"Yes," Hannah rasped, still processing the implications of this claim.

"And do you love him?"

"With everything I have."

"How long did you know one another before becoming engaged?"

Again she blinked. "We had met that day..."

"He's a practitioner of magic?"

Her lips pressed together, Hannah only nodded.

Mariela waved. "There you have it. Would you like me to undo that too?"

  1. Hannah's mind was reeling. Belboz had... magicked her to love him? And yet, even with this revelation, love him she did. So, so much.
  2. So powerful were the enchantments on Hannah that she said, "You're wrong. My Belboz would never, ever do that. I love him by my own free will."
