It is important to note that Hannah still remembered her previous life as Sir Fred [13424]. She just did not miss it at all. She had fully accepted her life as Hannah and enjoyed only the most girly of things. But now, it did begin to leak away—Sir Fred faded into the memory of a memory, and soon enough the details of her year with Gloriana became fuzzier and fuzzier. She hardly noticed the forgetting. One night, about four months after she'd been shrunk, just as she slipped into sleep she realized for the first time how distant her life as one of the Big People seemed now. And when she woke up, she didn't remember it at all. She blinked, looking around her. There was a familiarity to the grove, her leash and fence, the swarm of fairies going about their business. She vaguely wondered for the first and last time how she'd come to be here. Then one of the fairy children fluttered over to her holding a tiny crown of flower petals, and it was business as usual. She didn't even remember her name, much less a time she'd had anyone to talk to or interact with as an equal. She did retain her knowledge of the English language, but that was hardly of use to her, and sometimes she wondered how she'd gotten it. She must have always been a pet to these fairies, right?
