Within minutes, they had fashioned and put her in a tiny dress made entirely of the thinnest, wispiest grass she had ever seen, and a hat made from the cracked shell of some tiny seed. And they were whisking her off to who knew where.

Hannah found herself in the arms of a short-haired brunette fairy wearing a pink flower petal dress. She was holding her tight, which, while it made Hannah feel safe, also made her realize that she probably didn't intend to let her go.

"Hey!" Hannah protested. "Where are you taking me?"

  1. "Someplace safe," the brunette fairy replied.
  2. Her captor chittered lovingly at her. Hannah realized that the fairies did not understand or speak human languages.
