The Never Ending Quest - Episode 108428

"You can't do this," Fred said fiercely through clenched teeth, tears stinging in Hannah's eyes. "Nobody deserves this."

"Actually, you'll find that I can, in fact, do this. Whether you're deserving is of no consequence to me. I will, however, be keeping an eye on Hannah. I am interested to see how she develops. Here begins a part of the story that I did not write." Belboz tipped his conical hat, and just like that, he was gone.

Hannah stood there, blinking, and shook her head. Hadn't someone knocked on this door? She must have been hearing things. Perhaps she was ill. She shut it, rubbing her head.

Inside of that very same head, Fred was screaming in frustration and despair.

Soon enough, as Belboz had predicted (maybe had a hand in it himself, as Fred couldn't imagine anyone being insane enough to actually want this many children), Hannah and Henry were expecting again. They seemed happy enough. Fred was in anguish.

Now that Hannah and Fred were back on the wizard's radar, however, he had apparently resolved to make more frequent visits. His next one came...

  1. shortly after they made the announcement, to congratulate them.
  2. during the fourth birthday party of one of her daughters (which was rather humble but would never have been possible without the help of their kind village, who knew the struggles of the large family) when she was seven months pregnant.
  3. nine months later, as Hannah lay in bed, having given birth to her first set of twins.
  4. three years and four children later.
