Fred nearly opens his big long snout to say something saturated in benevolent sexism that nevertheless would not have started this particular princess/dragon relationship out on the best foreclaw. Fortunately, before coming down with an acute case of foot-in-mouth, he glances down the tunnel where Velus fled and sees the heroic canine pressed up against the rock wall, shivering.
"THERE!" Fred booms with satisfaction. Astra groans and holds her head. "Sorry. Over there." Fred whispers, modulating his voice down to a much more tolerable distant-sounding rumble. Speaking so low feels unnatural, but at least he's getting ONE of his new abilities under control. "Better, thank-you." Astra squints into the impenetrable darkness of the tunnel. "Velus? Are you there?" A single bark for 'Yes' echoes back down the tunnel. Astra gives a small exhalation of relief. "Velus, once again I am unharmed thanks to you. This dragon is a transformed Allarian knight known as Fred. He has offered his aid, and I suggest we trust him." The blue dragon looks down at Astra, whispering, "Can't you see him?" "Fred, there's no light down here save the glow from your eyes. Until we find a torch - or better, one of my Lightstones - I'll be relying on your sight and Velus's nose." "My eyes are glowing?" Astra ignores Fred's question as she directs her attention back in the general direction of where she thinks Velus is. "Are we still on the path to the treasure room you found?" Fred perks up. Treasure?
