A strange female voice from below whispered one word. "Bifrost."
Exotica paled.
"No!" she said. "I did not believe I was anywhere close!"
"Quick." said Fred. "What is it?"
"Bifrost is a magical code-word for people who are one magical level above mine. They are tested in battle when they are ready, no matter what the extenuating circumstances. The tests have taken many form but rarely do they involve others."
Just then...

  1. a sword wielding nearly naked madman emerged from thin air.
  2. magical power flowed from the ceiling.
  3. ropes shot from the wall, ensnaring Fred.
  4. plant vines grabbed Exotica's face. Fred destroyed them with his hands.
  5. gravity reversed itself.
  6. hands reached out from the shadows.
  7. Fred revealed a dark secret.
  8. Fred revealed a pleasant secret.
  9. this was not Fred. He had been replaced somehow by a Ripsote Strangler!
  10. Exotica pumps a Canteen-Expansion spell into a Defense Ward. Things...smashed and died against the wall.
