"But Lord D'Honaire," protested a nearby adivsor, "the lords of Anadûnê, despite their power and might at arms, will be unable to send a host sufficiently fast from their Isle of Kings. We would be reduced to rubble by the time their main force had arrived."
Dedrik D'Honaire responded thoughtfully, "We know not the might and speed of the Sea Kings because we have never before called upon them for help. But their seaport off the coast of Araphant is said to have several hosts of veteran warriors from days of old. They might spare one of their reserve hosts to help us put a swift end to this civil war. We would only need 6,000 or so of their men to put us at an advantage against the multiple insurrections that have been raised against us."
Another advisor voiced his worry aloud: "We are cut off from Tharbad by 10,000 rebels. They hold all the cities to the north-west of us, save the ones immediately surrounding our great captial. The only other option is Umbar--a year's journey to the south, as the horse rides."
