The Ruined City

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10570

The four adventurers had arrived in what Astra could only barely recognise as the capital of Aqualaria, for almost every building was a total ruin. In a world where the peak of technology was a siege gun, they could not imagine what could have wreaked such havoc. "I can hardly believe that either Kharven or the dragon was capable of causing this," said Astra, on the verge of tears. "Has some new foe, yet more fearsome, appeared?"

The city appeared to be deserted, its former inhabitants presumably having fled. Surprisingly, there was no sign of any bodies. Had the people received advance warning of what was to come and left prior to the attack?

Obviously there was no use remaining in the ruined city.

  1. They decided to search the area around the city in the hope of finding some survivors who could tell them what had happened.
  2. They decided they should make the long journey south to the ancient temple. [10043]
  3. Before they could decide what to do, Velus spotted a figure peering at them from behind a ruined wall.
