Zenobia suddenly appeared in the middle of Diana's hut two months after she'd had her first house guests ever. The witch observed the frail old woman before her, and said after a long moment, "It's been a long time, hasn't it, pet? Amazing what thirty-six years does to a person." She smiled. Diana wanted to slug her in the face, but she couldn't even stand up without her joints aching. "Now," the witch continued, "I thought I ought to tell you that the illness is all over the village, and it's time to tell people about it. That week-old infant that graced your presence two months ago is now a two-year-old. He's spread the sickness to many others and nobody knows what to do about it. Some unlucky souls are even unluckier than you and are aging up to twenty times the normal rate. People are panicking. Time to come clean, Grammy." She laughed cruelly, and vanished. Diana felt like vomiting.
