The realization could barely even be called one; she knew what was happening only insofar as she could state it. She didn't at all understand what would actually happen now. And it lasted for a split second; afterwards she wasn't even aware of it at all.

She dropped her basket of thyme carelessly and began to follow the swarm of fairies as it moved away. The fairies pulled at her hair and her clothes. She felt the irresistible urge to dance to their music. So she skipped along through the unknown forest, the very picture of the phrase "not a care in the world."

She followed them until they reached their home, a small, pretty grove. There, she just wandered around, dancing and smiling and staring in wonder, for a very long time.
She followed them until they suddenly scattered, leaving her alone. She suddenly jolted to full awareness. It was the dead of night, and she was very far from Gloriana's cottage, in an unfamiliar part of the woods.
