The boy was overcome by an intense feeling of dizziness, and when he stumbled, his feet moved unrestrained. He then straightened up, the brief bout of nausea having passed completely.

"Boy," came the commanding voice of the old man standing before him. "Do you know your name?"

"Of course," the boy replied, slightly puzzled. "My name is Winthrop. I come from the village of Efalred."

"Yes, yes, that's right. And do you know who I am?"

  4. "You are the evil sorcerer who resides in these caves! I didn't mean to trespass, I swear!"

  6. "No, I've never seen you before... Who are you?"
