Fred stared at the lady's face. Some time ago the King had married and had
a child with a fair lady from another land. Sure, there were large age
differences with the couple but anyone could see that the King was happy.
But the lady, Zala, had vanished soon after giving birth to a daughter. The King had turned his lands upside down looking for her. It was a terrible five year period. And now here was Zala, apparently not having aged a day since the court painters did her wedding dress picture. "My queen." said Fred, dropping to one knee and bowing his head. "Queen?" the woman said. Her voice was hoarse. "Does...the Great Kingdom still exist?" "Yes. I am a knight in loyal service it's master, King Emery." "Emery!" she breathed. "He is still alive?" "Yes." "Then take me to him!"
