Diana cries out in surprise and worry, and kneels down next to her dear Fred. The now-merman Fred is fine, however; he flops his tail around, getting used to the feeling, and then announces, "I feel fine, but I don't know if you ought to drink from this pool as well, Diana; if neither of us has legs, getting out of here may be very difficult. However, that might very well be a more favorable alternative to the potentially nasty things that could happen if you drink from any of the others."
