"You KILLED Lord Fred?!" the King repeats in disbelief, shaking his head. "You KILLED him? We need all the help against the Evil Dragon that we can get, there's a shortage of really good warriors, and you KILLED one of the BEST ONES?!" He is practically frothing at the mouth with rage. "I'm so sorry," stammered Sir Josh. "I really didn't mean to. He appeared behind me suddenly in the form of a great bear, and I thought he was just a dumb animal, and was going to attack me. It was self-defense, your Majesty! It was only AFTER I pulled my sword back out of the bear's corpse that it turned back into Lord Fred and I realised what I'd done. Then I gave him a proper burial. Please forgive me, your Majesty." He hung his head in shame. "Hmmmn...." said the King. "Zular," he turned to the handsome, sharp-featured young nobleman lounging languidly next to him on a miniature throne, "what do YOU think we should do about Sir Josh?" Zular is his advisor now? thought Sir Josh with a feeling of deep dread. Oh, boy. This doesn't bode well. Everyone KNOWS Zular is a power-hungry, sadistic loonie... Zular smiled crookedly and said:
