Betty-1 made a little appreciative gasping noise, and Betty-2 elbowed her roughly in the ribs and hissed "Stop it!" The newcomer -- who was wearing a green velvet kind of Old West outfit -- flashed a dazzling smile around the room (causing Betty-1 to have to elbow her counterpart this time). "Hello!" he said brightly. "How nice to see you all here!"

"So," drawled the most recent Master, "you are behind this. I might have known!"

"Just as I might have known you'd escape from the Eye of Harmony." replied the newcomer.

The other Masters were eying him carefully. "Is this...?" the Ainley version began.

"Yes," hissed the Roberts version. "Number eight. And the last, if I have anything to say about it."

  1. "I'm afraid not," said the Eighth Doctor with a smile.
  2. At which point the third Doctor finally made his reappearance.
  3. The Roberts Master lunged for the Doctor.
