The sorcerer combines Pruvyre with two other fierce she-dogs. The result is a ten-foot-tall monstrosity he calls Cerberia. His new guard dog needs to eat six times what a normal dog would, but makes up for it by being completely effective in keeping intruders away. Many years pass, and stories spread, stories of the fearsomeness of Cerberia, and how none who approach her ever live to tell the tale. The sorcerer is well pleased. Of course many brave warriors approach the beast, hoping to earn a reputation of valor and strength by bringing back its three heads on three swords, but she's ten feet tall, for goodness sake, and she spits acid. None of them stand a chance. Until one day, a young man begins to come while the sorcerer is away. He feeds the beast a sort of stew in an enormous container, keeping himself far enough away that he is not in danger. He comes back the next day, and the day after that, every time with more stew. Cerberia begins to look forward to his daily visit. It's some weeks later that the stew suddenly takes effect.
