"Actually," said Zenobia after a moment, "I get bored easily; you must understand. Let's make it even faster." So she took the current speed at which Diana was aging, and tripled it. She would now age twelve times as quickly as a normal, healthy person.

Diana felt a deep, heart-stopping fear at what this would mean. But Zenobia wasn't finished yet. After adding one more symptom—coughing, which would gradually worsen as time went on—she released the young woman into the nearest village to infect others.

  1. Diana left the village immediately, unwilling to endanger others with this witch-disease.
  2. Diana was unable to leave the village, as Zenobia had placed a spell on her.
