Who Is This "Doctor Who" Person, Anyway?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10283

Fortunately nobody asked Stacy any awkward questions; her "minder" kept the queue of people moving too quickly for that. After an hour, he announced that she would be taking a fifteen minute break for a cup of coffee, which he then brought for her. That gave her the chance to look at the blurb on the back cover of a copy of the book.

Apparently "Doctor Who" was an ancient British SF series on TV, originally aimed at children, that had achieved cult status in the States. Remarkably, Stacy appeared to be claiming in her book that the fictional character had a real life counterpart and that she had been on actual adventures with him. Oh dear, Stacy thought. I might be amnesiac now, but it appears that I was totally insane when I wrote the book. Either that, or it's fiction very cleverly masquerading as fact. All these people seem to believe it's real, it seems. Amazing!

The signing session resumed.

  1. And eventually finished.
  2. The person at the head of the line passed her a note along with his copy of the book.
  3. A blue booth matching the one in the photo on the book cover materialised in the shop.
