Stranger Than Fishin'

While Batman was out of town, and off world on a mission with the Justice League and Justice Society, five of his rogues staked out and attacked Wayne Manor. Finding no one else, the villains mugged and severely beat faithful butler Alfred Pennyworth. Once Batman returned home, he found his home ransacked, and Alfred in bad shape. He had survived the attack, but Batman still went nuclear.

While Alfred is hospitalized and protected by nonstop surveillance courtesy of the Gotham City Police Department, Batman has been in one foul mood. He convened the weary JLA members back to the Hall of Justice and demanded justice. And to prove that he truly meant business, Batman had summoned the Avengers from Earth-616. Once they crossed the barrier between universes with help from Access, they would be arriving tonight.

For only the second time in history, DC and Marvel's top superhero teams have come together. The earth shattering matter bringing them together? Finding out exactly who beat up Alfred!

"Like Bats can't figure it out on his own time!" Booster Gold whispers to Spider-Man.
"I know, right?" Spidey jokes.
"I BELIEVE THE TIME FOR JOKING IS OVER, GENTLEMEN!" Batman thunders.

1. The teams work swiftly to bring the rogues to justice.
2. This case takes many years to solve. Sigh.
3. Alfred dies before he can be avenged.
4. Batman breaks character and tells a bad joke. Everyone laughs politely.
