A Sneak Attack By The Dragon's Forces

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10267

Unfortunately, for the forces, it consisted of four men and a magic floating shoe.
There was Ensign Arnold Halberd, who had only joined up with the dragon because of the great dental benefits and the threats to torch his astonishing collection of centaur portraits.
Lt. Commander Ariel Havabannana had fallen through into this realm from another dimension where this world was just a popular book in the Young Adult section. She had joined with the dragon in order to redeem his evil soul through the power of pure love. Ariel did have, had, true love for the dragon, love that would have outshone the stars. But the dragon was a cold, heartless bastard and bit off her left arm and right leg below the knee. Mostly because he bit in his sleep.
Ariel only lived because her presence inspired the techno-geeks to keep going and build more stuff. Including new limbs for the now bitter, hateful and coughing-blood-every-morning girl.
The third member of the crew was James Tiberus Kirk. James had grown up his entire life knowing his name was somehow, in some way, connected with greatness. Of course, he passed through the typical teenager rebel against everything he knew stage and by the time he was done with that, he was deep in the dragon's forces. Of course, there was the unalterable fact that James was just a total evil bastard so he fit right in.
Bringing up the rear, waving two way-too-heavy swords and screaming complete gibberish was Gibberish. He was the tallest dwarf in the world and never said anything anyone ever understood. Being way too tall had caused him to become bitter, hateful and gassy, thus earning banishment from the mines. The only folks who would accept him were the dragon's forces. The day the dragon moved into the caves was the second worst day of Gibberish's life. The first was when he sat naked on a porcupine.
The four-some ran straight for the king.
The shoe, distracted by shiny things, flew into a tuba shop. (Tubas were very popular).
Twenty seven crossbows twanged. Three men dropped dead. Ariel was taken prisoner. Not by any means of chivalry, mind you, just that her metallic arm had been in front of her heart, thus stopping five of the bolts that would have pierced it.
The shoe was never seen again.

  1. Life goes on.
  2. More forces attack.
  3. We attend the funeral of Gibberish.
