Scott goes down a random magic staircase, followed by a retail employee who hates his job. The retail employee's name is Vamoose Treloose. He's a tall man, olive-complexion, with a round chin, tiny nose and big, watery green eyes. He grew up in France. He grew up in an orphanage; he was found in the orphanage's pool chemical supply room with two million and a note explaining his name (the money was an outright bribe for the orphanage as that month the adoption laws were in flux). Anyway...Vamoose and Scott find sentient rat-people in a poker game. It's a wide open room, with red highlights, light beige wood and tasteful mirrors. Real plants on real wood supports dot the area, making it smell nice. There are even four bright white rolling magazine racks with a wide variety of reading material. The tables are a bit battered and scarred. In one corner is a pool table that worries Scott for reasons he cannot comprehend. All the balls are green but that shouldn't be it.
