Abominable Snowman in the Market

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 101212

Elsewhere, in another state, there lives a young child named Charlie. Charles Michael Winthrop is seven years old, and he is still a wide-eyed child to many aspects in the world today. He's too young to understand why his parents are so upset that the funny looking man with a bad haircut was elected President of the United States instead of the friendly looking grandmother with three names, but he does know that his mom and pop get so angry.

The Winthrops also get angry whenever their young son is duped by some of the older neighbor boys into saying disgusting things or doing something that could get him into a lot of trouble. The oldest is a boy named Ian, an eleven year old with his treasured iPhone 8 seemingly glued to the palm of his hand. One of the first things Ian learned how to do with his phone was film short and funny videos of he and his friends goofing around, or even cussing, which he has his older brother Oliver upload to a secret YouTube account that neither their mother or stepfather know about.

One fine afternoon at the park, Ian is holding court at the pavilion with his best friends Ricky, Cameron, Liam and Grant. It's just another day at the park in a post-Trump world, and the five boys have nothing to worry about.

Suddenly, Charlie appears, having wandered away from the pick-up baseball game that he tried to get involved with, only to be told by two of the biggest boys (the team captains, mind you) that the only position available for Charlie was "LEFT OUT!" Not knowing he wasn't welcome, Charlie didn't immediately skedaddle. It only took several more attempts from the captains and several of their teammates to finally convince Charlie that maybe he should make himself scarce, lest someone not take the nearest baseball bat and embed it in the side of Charlie's skull.

Charlie is walking around with his hands clasped and he holds his arms tightly over his stomach. He clearly looks uncomfortable about something, but it's going to take an effort to get him to open up about it, as his parents are well aware. And this is all the better, Ian and Liam both decide, to record Charlie embarrassing himself by tricking him into swearing.

"Hey, Charlie!" Liam calls out.
"Come on over here! We wanna hear you say it!" Ian smiles as he takes his phone and puts it close to Charlie's face.
"Say what?" asks a baffled Charlie.
"You know! The F-WORD!" cackles Grant.
"F-word." Charlie says stoutly, probably missing the point.
"No, Charlie!" Ricky cries out. "You gotta say it!"
"Charlie! Repeat after me," Cameron says.
"Okay?"
"I am..."
"I am...?"
"Sofa king..."
"Sofa king...?!"
"We Todd Ed!"
"...we Todd Ed," stammers a defeated Charlie as it dawns on him that he just fell for something again as Ian and his friends all fall sideways laughing.

Ten minutes later, Charlie has taken refuge at a picnic table at the opposite end of the park, which doesn't stay calm for long, as Ian and company all join him, and they make it clear that they're not going to let him alone until they provoke him into screaming that F-word as loud as he could while filming it.

Charlie is finally pressured into saying that offensive word quite loud, but he was completely unaware that just at that crucial moment, his mom and dad were walking up to him from behind. Long story short, Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop were both treated to hearing their only child succumbing to peer pressure and screeching "FUUUCKKKK!" at ear piercing levels.

  1. Charlie is dragged home by the ear.
  2. The Winthrops give Ian and his friends what for.
  3. Charlie is whipped around, slapped, turned back around, then spanked good and hard. Only after that do his mom and dad start asking questions...
