Fred glared incredulously at Sir Robert. Apart from dominating the
conversation with the two newest and lovliest inhabitants of the island so
far, he was now claiming to know the way back to civilization! Fred knew
that Robert (or Bob, as Fred sometimes called him in moments of relaxed
informality) had kept an eye out on the seas while being transported to
this God-forsaken patch of dirt, and that their only hope was to follow
his instincts. But this sudden arrogant confidence was too much.
"Oh really, good Sir Robert," Fred inquired sarcastically. "And just how shall we get back home, now that we have this fine vessel to take us."
