The two wizards had no reason to be alert, and they would surely be preoccupied with thinking about the possibilities offered by their proposed deal. So Astra thought that she had a fair chance of being undetected if she tried to pass through the portal before Belboz could close it. And if the worst came to the worst, and they did detect her, then what could they do to her? She was already dead, after all. Besides, she felt that when she was in that damn boat (as she thought of it) she had already done more than enough waiting for one lifetime - make that one non-lifetime. As for calling out to the two wizards to warn Belboz that Castellan was not to be trusted, she doubted that putting her faith in the necromancer would be a wise move.
Astra thought all this much more quickly than it takes to tell, for she knew that the portal would close very quickly once the two men had passed through it. So having made up her mind, she followed them as closely as she dared as they passed through.
