Giant spiders, on the other hand, were strictly verboten in the mind of Lord Fred. Especially in a location such as the giant crater that he had been sent to. Fred could easily get into the crater, but not out, whereas, the spider could easily leave once it had finished killing its prey.

Also, giant hairy spiders were more than enough for Fred to renounce his quest and return home to the kingdom. That's exactly what he does, running like a spooked rabbit the whole time.

1. Having returned the way he came, Fred again encounters a lava pool.
2. Quirah the salamander is very disappointed with Fred's actions.
3. A different group of warriors, all aimed with electric shavers, invade the crater, intending to shave the spider bald.
