As Fate would have it, they had landed on the small Pacific island of St
Lydburg, and the resident volcano was about to do a Krakatau and destroy
itself. Though in the case of Krakatua, a third of the island survived. In
this instance, there would be nothing more except floating fragments. The survivors rushed to the lifeboat and paddled as fast they could away from the island.
