"Sorry Mrs. Lomax, I can't take your case. I'm busy."
"With what, if I might ask." "I'm working on a case, about, uh..." I glanced down at the newspaper lying on my table. The main headline was about a recent theft of an invaluable diamond. "...diamond-theft." Carol Lomax looked down on the newspaper. "I see. Well then, I'll follow your work on this case closely. I would find it displeasing if you were lying to me, and in that case I'd make sure that you'd have no end of trouble from my lawyers." "Ma'am, you're insulting me. Now please leave, I've got work to do." With a "hmph" Mrs. Lomax left, only leaving a faint smell of flatulence in my office. Fortunately, opening a window soon cleared the air. Well, this was a pickle, I thought to myself. If I didn't start working on the case, I was sure that the influental Mrs. Lomax would make good her promise. I looked down on the newspaper once more. Where should I start?
