==== begin rule submission ==== ....there was brief silence as Sir Toby's booming voice echoed down the stone corridors of the Committee's room, and then a subdued hubbub as the collected Committee members paused to consider his suggestion that the Theme of the next Round be New Year's Fantasy Resolutions. The idea was not without merit, given the time of year. But then Steve spoke up: "Fantasy Resolutions certainly have their attractions. But the new Year is already behind us, and this Round may not end for some time, by which time the time of New year's resolutions may well have passed us by. Furthermore, I feel that this suggestion neglects the numerical significance of the next Round, which is to be Round 200. I therefore suggest that the Theme of the next Round be 'Bicentennial Celebrations'. Let us make our New Year's Fantasy resolutions during *this* Round, while the New year is still in its infancy. For myself, I resolve to spread the fame of the FRC as far as I can, and to do my best to become Judge and Wizard for some other Round as well as, or instead of, Round 200, so that I can try out another Theme I've had in mind for a while, and Judge the resulting submissions... ==== end rule submission ==== -- Steve Gardner | Each writer creates their own School of Computer Science | precursors. and Software Engineering | gardner_at_sng.its.monash.edu.au | -- Jorge Luis Borges -- Rule Date: 2003-01-02 02:39:46 GMT
