Nuh-uh, it was invalid; it is not self-consistent. "auksiliary" is
redundant. :):):) (Actually, a case could be made either way. I'm just
being ornery. And it *was* very stylish. ;)

33:8 looks OK, but I want to check Mike's points before I make an
official ruling.

If the rule is valid (and the Judge has ruled it so), then it is
self-consistent. This means that "auksiliary" is _not_ redundant. If I may
resort to Oldspeak here: Unnecessary words are fine, Unnecessary _auxiliary_
words are disallowed. The only officially auxiliary words in English are
auxiliary verbs, such as "have" or "can", used to make a distinction in
voice, aspect, or tense. Of course, the way the rule is worded, _necessary_
auxiliary verbs are still allowed.
Or you can think of it this way: if one assumes that every rule applies to
all future rules, and to itself only if it so states, then this rule is
consistent because it applies only to future rules (assuming that saying
"all future rules" is unnecessary.
Now I remember why the FRC is so much fun. ;)
