Concerto of Pain

"Die for me! Diee fooor meeee!" Gory Death roars, her voice deep and slow like a tape player running out of batteries. Her mutilated body twitches and spasms on the cave floor as she tries to crawl toward you.

"Gory Death, farewell," you say, aiming the Uzi at her and squeezing off a burst. As the bullets pass through her Gory Death vanishes as if she never was.

Before you can shed a single tear for your dead imaginary friend, the base trombone laughs. "Enough of this! You have been warned. Since you refuse to leave, prepare to die!"

The instruments begin to play wildly, spinning and twisting in mid-air as a burst of sonic energy hurtles toward you. You roll out of the way just in time, the energy obliterating a part of the cave wall where you stood. There is no doubt left in your mind as to what you have to do. Your missing memories are a warrior's memories. This is disturbing since you're a little girl, but the instincts that now take over your body almost against its will are clear. Emerging from behind a stalagmite you sprint sideways spraying the instruments with a deadly rain of hot lead.

"Kill her, you fools!" the trombone roars as the instruments explode into splinters by the dozens. "She's just a little girl you imbeciles!! KILL HER!!"

The instruments fire off more blasts of sonic energy but you dodge and duck and twist around each one and deliver swift retribution to your foes. Soon, the violent concerto that had been playing all around you is reduced to silence, and a few crippled instruments twitching and twanging sad notes as you face the base trombone.

"Ha, so you've won, pathetic human," the trombone laughs. "What's wrong? Do you lack the will to finish what you started? Go on and kill me!"

1. "Lets settle this with honor," you say, tossing the Uzi aside and assuming a martial arts stance.
2. "Evil must be punished!" you say, pulling the trigger.
3. "Time for you to answer my questions!"
