Looking Right for the Wedding, Right?

"Fred, please," pleaded Astra. "I promise you that I will behave. This thing is horrid." She then fixed Fred with her saddest, most manipulative stare.

Fred sighed, waved his hand. "Ok look. If the wedding goes off without a hitch, and we consummate the marriage, and you behave yourself and make me happy, then maybe it doesn't have to go back on. But I swear, if you do one little thing then the discussion is over!"

"Thanks, Fred, I..." but Fred was gone. Belboz then came around the corner, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"Hey there princess, looks like you got out of those chains!" he said, and then raised a finger "I think it's time to discuss that favor you owe me."

"But the plan didn't work!" complained Astra, but Belboz shook his head firmly.

"A deal is a deal. I fulfilled my part, you just had very bad luck. You will do the favor, or I swear, I can have you locked up in the deepest darkest cell. I have the king's ear, my dear." Belboz absently plucked a piece of fuzz off his robes.

Astra was so mad at herself. She knew better than to make deals with necromancers or wizards or any of their ilk. "What do you want, Belboz?"

"It's quite simple, Astra," replied Belboz, his face serious. "On your wedding night, go through a secret passage in Fred's room and recover a tiny cylinder from an old wooden table. It is surrounded by candles, you will need to blow them out in order. I will give you the runes on the candles so you know the order to blow them out in."

"That isn't simple!" said Astra, clearly annoyed.

"You won't forget any of this, princess," said Belboz with a smirk. "I have cast a spell of greater remembrance. Everything we talk about right now neither of us will be able to forget."

Belboz went over all of the instructions with Astra, from getting the key to the secret chamber from pocket of Fred's robe, all the way through the exact rune descriptions, and the correct order. ".. and then bring the cylinder to me. Once I have it, I will do you one better than our original deal, which I admit was kind of lame in its eventuality, and I will transport you back to Aqualaria," he finished.

Astra was shocked. It was so risky, but he seemed very certain and if it meant getting out of here it was surely worth the risk.
