Fred and the other nobles waited anxiously, back in the same drawing room as before, a week later, the day that Duke Zular had said he would kill the King. "It's almost midnight", fretted Lady Constance, looking at the elaborate water-clock in the corner. "Do you think he's been captured?" The others all shuddered. No need to say what that meant. If Zular had been caught, he had no doubt spilled the entire plot. All their lives could be forfeit right now. Just then, the door slammed open with a loud BOOM. "The King WILL see you now." grunted two very large guards, grabbing hold of Lord Fred and dragging him out of the room. It did not look good.
