Andrea felt a brief moment of intense pain centered on the rune on her
right thigh. Nekarb noticed her wince. "That was no doubt the master's
hurry-up which you felt," he said. "Learn that ye must always do exactly as
he bids, as speedily as ye can." Andrea followed Nekarb through a door she could have sworn was not there, down corridor after winding corridor, and ended up at a massive double stone doorway, shut tight, with no handle. Above it were etched the following words: South Terrace "Lass, I like ye," said Nekarb, with a sad grin. "Therefore, hearken to my words. Trust not your eyes when ye go through these doors. Go straight ahead to the pavilion. Do not leave the terrace path, deviate neither to the left nor right. If ye do these things, ye will make it to the table. The Master will not be there at first. Sit, and await his pleasure. Speak when spoken to, lass, and nae more." Andrea opened her mouth to object, but Nekarb shook his head. "It's time," he said, and uttered some words in an unknown tongue. The massive stone doors swung outward, silently, revealing a stone pathway, with rails on either side. The sky was a purple and blue color, with.. things flying here and there, flickering and pulsing, covered with wings or tentacles or both. It was literally the most horrifying thing Andrea had ever seen, and it was a struggle to convince her feet to move through the door onto the path. Some distance ahead, a pavilion could be seen, beneath which was a table set for two. To get to it, she would need to cross over 200 feet of what she viewed as unprotected, dangerous pathway. "Go on, lass," said Nekarb. "Ye are marked, the coverings will protect ye. Just do not leave the path for any reason."
