The computer's silky female tone immediately responded:

Code confirmed, Oversight Director Sylvia Cabrera. New Note file activated. Voice commands suspended until recording complete. Recording now.

"We searched those caves with a fine tooth comb. All areas but those our Safety Supervisor, Carl Sanberg, had flagged as unsafe. There were two adjacent sections of the cave that he flagged as quarantine level, and so I must regrettably assume that he discovered our two subjects and was keeping my crew away from them." Sylvia frowned, firing up her terminal and bringing up Carl's file in a closed session.

"This means that he did not want management to know of their existence, which means that Carl is not who he says he is. The question is, who does he really work for. His file is clean, but not too clean. I see two write ups for coming in hung over on his record. He also has some subordination reports from his prior assignment. I smell a rat."

Sylvia appeared deep in thought, tapping her fingers on the desk. "Computer, end note file."

Note file logged and set to append status, closed and secured.

"Computer, contact via closed channel contact G9."

Contact G9 inaccessible. Voicemail?

"Secured voicemail."

You have reached Benjamin Naren. Leave a message.

"Ben, this is Sylvia. I need a deep scan on a Carl Sanberg, secure channel delivered to me, and I need it Now. I know you are screening your calls, but don't call me back. Leave all information via secure channel to me directly. Do not use the corporate network box. Thanks."

Message received. Flagged as urgent. Individuals are at your door, requesting your presence in the lab director.

"Fine, fine," said Sylvia, standing up and straightening out her dress. "Let's do this."

1. Fred and Siva are prepped on their tables in the lab, sedated and ready for examination.
2. We rejoin Carl waiting on the other two individuals to come out of stasis.
